We Really Needed This!

Mkay....here's my first stab at this whole, lets open up the discussion business. Let me preface this by saying if you don't watch this with the critical eye of someone who DOESN'T think with a pea size part of their brain, then yes it will be no less than BUFFOONERY. But if you think to yourself: Damn, this is really how a lot of us think?!?!? Then you should rightly be outraged, but not because someone held a mirror up to it, but because the ish still exists at all!
We black women have alooooot of issues with how we look and feel about ourselves. As a young woman, this discussion and dialouge used, IS an accurate reflection of many young people. And if we dont talk about...then how will it ever get resolved? Lightskin vs. Darkskin is not new, nor is it somehow an issue that should be just dismissed as trivial. How we feel and view ourselves as black women has alot to do with the issues we face today. Self image and self esteem is directly linked to those who do or don't go to college, who do or don't have healthy relationships and who become successful and those who well become fodder for us to laugh at on YouTube.
