First comes love.........

So clearly this has been a busy weekend in the world of celebrity love. Both famed rapper T.I and his boo and Alicia Keys and producer Swizz Beats tied the knot. Ahhh amore.

But their unions have had their share of scandal. And it begs the question, does love really follow the traditional rules anymore??? I mean honestly do people run into their soul mates at just the right time, when everything in their life is perfect and then fall in love THEN get married THEN have kids? I mean, I don't know about you but outside of a fairytale book I don't know many love stories that go that way. And some of those who do it the "right" way, still don't always live happily ever after. #justsayin.

Everyone wants to throw stones at my girl Alicia because she fell in love with someone who was already married. I mean, not to condone what their falling in love caused in a way of pain to his ex-wife but if it was meant to be well...then it just was. *ducks as the riot ensues* I mean I know first hand what it's like to be in love with someone else's man. And no, I didn't get pregnant and then marry him but still. If we had made it down the aisle I wouldn't of wanted to hear women hissing and trying to bring shade on our union. How can I put this delicately.... ISH happens!! People fall in love and OUT of it.

Yes marriage in theory is supposed to last forever. But sometimes it doesn't. And sometimes you can fall in love at what seems like the most inopportune time (i.e while your still involved with someone else). I, personally think that there are a ton of situations similar to Mrs.Beatz situation. But unlike her most take the path of least resistance and choose to bow out. I, included. But don't knock the girl for finding love. It's a rare and beautiful thing when it's real. So don't hate congratulate. As for my boy Tip and his wifey...all I have to say is *Madea voice* It's about damn time, hell!

Harpo, where U BEEN??????

So I know if you were reading this wonderful blog sometime last year you had to wonder...Hey! What happened. Did I fall off the edge of the world? Did I die? Did I move out of the civilized world to a place where there are no computers?????

The answer to all those questions are no! I simply got really busy with life. Like most of society working and living got to be too much for this lass. And though I took a vacation from it, I always thought about my little blog. It always stayed in my heart. And I knew one day I'd come back to it and make it bigger and better than ever. And that day has come. The second day of August of the year two thousand and ten. I'M BACK and i will make sure to make this here blog one of thought and love and truth and give ya'll the real. Straight up, no chaser. There's always some mess going on with the world and leave it to me to talk about it. It's the world through the view of a twenty something year old black woman living in America in the city of Atlanta and all the things that I think...and consequently let come out of my mouth. Come join me on this journey. It's sure to be a great one!

My Boyfriend(LOL) Early Friday Eye Candy

So my significant other (in my mind) will be coming to my place of residence. Who's this man you ask?????

First name Durand, last name Brenarr. And he's my hawt. My bestie will be in town this weekend for his twenty first B'day. And since I did not have the privelage of celebrating mine correctly because of extenuating circumstances I shall be living vicariously through his.I know your probably wondering what makes my friend so special that he gets his own segment on my blog along with Ye, Jay and the rest?

There's your answer, my dear friend Mr. Randy is a singer! And a damn good one too. He's a true musician and artist, as well as a damn good friend, and a darn good time. I got super love for him. So as part of my gifts to him for his b'day (sans jumping out a cake, or a LAPDANCE as was suggested*i wont say by whom*) I'm giving him the gift of being my honorary early eye candy of the week.

And I'm gifting you the privelage of hearing him sing. So here he is, Durand Bernarr, my boyfriend( in my head).

Why I've been so damned busy

Fact one: I have JOB, unfortunately this aint it. I am working toward the day that this does become something that is part of my CAREER (there's a difference). But as for right now, the only time I see a computer screen at work is when I'm clocking in and taking orders *yes, I'm a waitress*
Fact two: Me no have computer at my house. As we speak I'm typing from my lovely cuzzo's crib. But I dont wanna be over here so much that they start receiving my mail. So until Ms.Micia buys a laptop, no constant and consitent updates will be possible. I know, I'm devestated too.

I promise, however whenever something juicy happens I will kindly open my mouth and jump on my soap box and tell it to the world. Til' then, I will see soon, old friend.

Daily HH

Everyone should realize now, that I'm a Hill H. stan! Fine, smart and caring are what I love about the brother. He just came out with another book, so go cop it. Go get two and pass it to a friend! We need more input in topics such as how to keep our communities and our relationships healthier. I expect a good read, and then I can stare at the picture and imagine it at our wedding ceremony. Don't judge!

This part of our daily programing has got some extra help thanks to the VMA Awards that just recently aired on Sunday. Oh where to start?

I know! Let's start with how random it is that a British VJ has been the host for the past two years. I'm all for international exposure but I couldn't understand what the bloody hell the bloke was saying half the time! LOL
On to the next random thing, the thing that's the elephant staring you down but nobody wants to touch. Or everybody has already touched on...


WHY IS ANYONE SUPRISED BY KANYE'S BEHAVIOR ANYMORE???
Hasn't he done this same exact thing at every award show since he, like, came out? Am I the only person who EXCPECTED such bufoonery from him. I truly think the only reason there's such a muss and fuss is because he messed with sweet,angelic,blonde haired blue eyed country singer Taylor Swift. Had he done this to say Maroon 5, I doubt there'd be such a big blow up. I'm so over Kanye and his antics, outside of a little tee-hee I was thinking "Meh, another day in Kanyeland, wat else is new?" So he ruined her "moment", Beyonce gave it back to her (classy moment for her) and the heiffa couldn't even say thank you. She grugingly copped a 'tude stating: "Can we try this again?" I think all stars need a serious reality check sometimes. It's an award show, for a channel that don't even play the video's they award. So....why all the hoopla?



And you knew this was coming. (sigh) Oh poor Lil' Mama. She was just trying to get her shine on!(holds back laughter) She's like the guest who showed up to your party unnounced and eats all the food, or spills something on the carpet. You just stare thinking "Who invited you? Why are you even HERE????" In all fairness I understand her hype around Empire State or whatever the song's called by Jay-Z. As a fellow Brooklynite, that song gets me all kinds of hype. Not jump on stage in the middle of a performance hype. But hype nonetheless. So maybe Jay-Z should rip a page from his wife's nobility book and share the shine instead of getting pissy about it. It didn't look as entirely out of place as people make it seem......okay I'm lying. She looked silly. But she did what she felt and I can always respect that. Get your shine on! Everybody deserves that.

Been A Long Time

I already forewarned that there was a possibility that there were elongated moments of crickets. But I am...baaaack. (for the moment:fingers crossed).
